The Austenitic kind 304-18 Chrome 10 Nickel and the broader most comprehensive use, It is also the best of these calibres, where has the best mechanical properties, chemical and health. The possibility of cleaning and sterilization of this caliber makes it a first choice for health uses in hospitals, kitchens and other food plants. Furthermore, this caliber has a bright shiny surfaces easy to clean for the rest of its life.

the Ferritic kind contains between 10.5% and 27% chromium and very little nickel, some types can contain lead. Most compositions include molybdenum; aluminium or titanium.

Martensitic are not as corrosion-resistant as the other two kinds but are extremely strong and tough, as well as highly machinable, and can be hardened by heat treatment. Martensitic stainless steel contains chromium, molybdenum, nickel, and carbon wich giving it hardness but making the material more brittle.

Precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steels have the same corrosion resistance of austenitic.

Duplex stainless steels have a mixed microstructure of austenite and ferrite, Duplex grades are characterized into groups based on their alloy content and corrosion resistance.
